Trinasolar Supports Solar Rooftop Project for a Child Development Center in Thailand, Promoting Education Opportunities For the Next Generation
2024.08.06

Schools across Thailand face a significant challenge in operating costs. Whilst accessing electricity in schools positively impacts learning outcomes, the rising energy cost is one of the significant burdens on those schools. This crisis will directly affect children resulting in reduced educational quality, fewer opportunities, and a less supportive school environment. In the worst situation, it could lead to school closures.

Trinasolar, a global leader in smart photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions, acknowledges the energy cost crisis in the education sector in Thailand. Dave Wang, Sub-Region Head for Asia Pacific at Trinasolar, shared that “Implementing solar energy systems in schools can be a dominant solution to address operating costs challenges. Solar modules can be installed on school rooftops to generate clean, renewable electricity, and help reduce electricity bills. By harnessing sustainable solutions, schools can enhance a conducive learning environment for students and teachers and help reduce the electricity bills.”

Trinasolar recently partnered with Altervim and VESC (Voluntary Engineering Student Camp), a voluntary camp organized by the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, by supplying and facilitating the installation of Trinasolar's Vertex DE18 550Wp solar modules on the rooftop of the Child Development Center in Nakhon Sawan province. The project is expected to generate an average power generation of 660 kWh monthly and save electricity bills of around 2,700 THB a month or 32,400 THB per year. The electricity generated by solar modules not only provides a better learning environment but also generates clean energy and saves electricity bills. Over the years, these savings could add up for other education opportunities such as installing playgrounds and library programs.

“With Trinasolar's mission of ‘Solar Energy for All’ - supporting global energy conservation, emission reduction, and sustainable development, we’re pleased to be a part of this voluntary project. We always ensure that our operations benefit society and the environment, creating a positive impact on current and future generations,” Dave concluded.
