Trina Solar to establish downstream arm in France

Trina Solar, the world’s leading total solutions provider for solar energy recently announced that it would soon incept its downstream business facility in the French market. The French arm, Trina Solar France System (TSFS), under Trina Solar’s International System Business Unit (ISBU) will be established in Toulouse, a city in the Southern France in January 2019.

TSFS is to develop, invest and also provide EPC solutions for those ranging from Commercial and Industrial solar projects, carports to multi-megawatts ground solar power plants. TSFS is a developer that proposes a different business model, it is backed by the world’s leading solar energy total solutions provider, and complementary with players already in place.

Trina Solar ISBU provides full cycle value chain for downstream system projects, from project development, financing, to EPC and asset management. It has connected diversified utility projects in USA, UK, Italy, Japan, Greece, India, Australia, Jordan, and Chile, etc. and has offices across the globe.

Jerome Sudres, head of TSFS with more than 25-year of experience in renewable energy market, said that he is very excited to take this new challenge. “We will have a top notch French local team to be on board and target at reaching top solar players in France in near future.”

Inigo Viani, head of Trina Solar ISBU European region commented that TSFS will soon play a significant role in both French market and the European region as a whole, especially the southern Europe. France has set up the new PV target: 20.6 GW by 2023 and 26 to 45 GW by 2028. The growth of TSFS will proactively enroll in this new target.
