Trina Solar signed land convention agreement with France southwestern city Biarritz

Trina Solar, world’s leading PV and smart energy total solution provider announced that its downstream project development arm, Trina Solar France System  (TSFS) has recently signed a land convention agreement with the government of the City of Biarritz for the operation of a cluster of solar PV projects with a total capacity of 5 MW. These projects will be built on the public domain of the city of Biarritz and will come into commercial operation by 2022.

Patrick Destizon, Deputy Mayor of the City of Biarritz and Jérôme Sudres, Head of TSFS represented each party to join the agreement signing ceremony. "This is an important step that we have just taken. We have a very dynamic and talent team in France and strong local partners, it is our great honor to eventually stand out from many other competitors. The signing of the agreement has attested to the merits of our approach,” said Jérôme Sudres.

The city of Biarritz is located in the southwestern France with a population of approximately 25,000. These projects are expected to provide clean energy to offset about 75% of the city's electricity consumption. “We could even reach 100% by saving energy on the remaining 25%”. The City of Biarritz chose TSFS, the best bidder to sign this agreement for 25 years.” added Jérôme Sudres.
