Trina Solar Limited ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a leading total solutions provider for solar energy, is launching its integrated TrinaPro solution to the European market during Intersolar Europe 2018. This smart PV solution for utility-scale installations can significantly reduce levelized cost of electricity (LCoE). TrinaPro and other innovations are on display at the Trina Solar booth (A1.170) at Intersolar Europe 2018, representing the company’s evolution from a market-leading module manufacturer to a pioneer in smart PV solutions.
TrinaPro for tracking systems integrates Trina Solar’s industry-leading solar PV modules, state-of-the-art Nclave trackers and world-class Huawei and Sungrow inverters. The smart solution can significantly reduce system LCoE by combining premium components, optimized system integration and smart O&M interconnection. Trina Solar has recently acquired Spanish tracker manufacturer Nclave Renewable whose best-in-class single-axis tracker technology is a key component of TrinaPro.
At Intersolar Europe, a tracking system with bifacial DUOMAX twin modules forms the centerpiece of the TrinaPro display. The combination of bifacial technology with single-axis trackers is particularly effective in boosting additional energy production up to 30% and reducing LCoE.
Also on display is Trinahome, Trina Solar’s corresponding solution for residential applications. Trinahome integrates high performance PV modules with efficient TrinaBESS hybrid inverters and battery storage systems. At Intersolar Europe, Trinahome showcases the new full black monocrystalline module DD05A.05 (II) Honey M Plus in Black, featuring multi-busbar cell design in addition to its black backsheet and frame. Its twelve nearly invisible busbars improve this module’s aesthetically pleasing design for residential rooftops even further. More importantly, the multi-busbar technology boosts module performance to 310Wp.
One key trend Trina Solar features at this year’s Intersolar Europe is half-cut cell technology. The company will shift a major share of its total production capacity to half-cut cell modules by the end of 2018. The benefits of this technology include improvements in module performance of up to 10Wp while also not adding significant extra cost. Trina Solar has its new Splitmax product line on display, featuring mono and multicrystalline modules in standard formats with 120 or 144 half cells, respectively.
Gonzalo de la Viña, Head of European module business at Trina Solar, said: “Over the first 20 years of its existence Trina Solar has evolved into an industry-leading PV manufacturer and has consistently set benchmarks in innovation, performance and bankability. We are committed to keeping ahead of the curve and are driving change by creating innovative solutions such as TrinaPro. In Europe we are already experiencing strong demand for TrinaPro, driven by its value-added benefits; the whole is more than the sum of its parts. We are very happy to be well-positioned in Europe, thanks to TrinaPro, Trinahome and our high innovation power in module and solution development.”
