May 31, 2017 – Trina Solar Limited ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a global leader in photovoltaic ("PV") modules, solutions, and services, is presenting its latest product developments at this year’s Intersolar Europe in Munich, focusing on solutions which further reduce levelized cost of electricity (LCoE). New products on display at the Trina Solar booth (N° A1.480) include the bifacial DUOMAX Twin module, as well as the project-scale Tallmax module for 1,500V system voltage. Visitors will also get a first glimpse at the company’s multi-busbar technlology and the half-cut cell Splitmax product, both significantly boosting output power. Battery storage solutions for all system sizes are being presented by Trinabess, the group’s dedicated energy storage division.
One of the show’s highlights is the recently launched DUOMAX Twin bifacial module. It combines highly efficient bifacial PERC cells and the dual-glass DUOMAX design. The PV module generates power from both the front and back sides of the cells, allowing for a variety of tilt angles and installation options. DUOMAX Twin is ideal for elevated ground, rooftop, desert and snowy area installations or on-water applications, and can deliver substantial additional energy yield.
The 72-cell Tallmax module represents a growing range of Trina Solar PV modules that are certified for 1,500V system voltage. This allows for more modules to be connected in the same string, reducing DC wire losses as well as BOS components such as cables and combiner boxes.
Trina Solar also showcases a multi-busbar Honey product, a monocrystalline pre-production module with twelve busbars. This technology further improves performance, specifically in high irradiation conditions, with only minor impact on production costs. The multi-busbar cell design will successively be introduced in manufacturing, starting from the fourth quarter of 2017.
Likewise, Trina Solar is bringing the high power Splitmax module to Europe. This 120-cell product features an innovative half-cut cell design, resulting in reduced interconnection losses. Splitmax has already enjoyed great success in other global markets.
“We are very pleased to be presenting innovative solutions that can actively contribute to cost reduction, while improving performance at the same time”, said Gonzalo de la Viña, Head of European Module Business at Trina Solar. “Both are two sides of the same coin: Trina Solar’s relentless efforts to reduce levelized cost of electricity in PV. By doing so, we strive to fulfil our company vision of letting solar energy benefit all mankind. We look forward to welcoming our existing business partners as well as getting in touch with new interested parties at Intersolar in Munich.”
Trina Solar Europe shares its booth with Trinabess, the group’s division for battery storage systems. Trinabess presents its energy storage solutions for residential, commercial and large-scale applications.
