Trina Solar Co., Ltd. ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), , has received two important IEC certifications for its new generation of PV modules from the hands of TÜV Rheinland. With that, Trina Solar’s brand new modules, combining N-type cells, multi busbar and half-cut cell technology, are among the first in the industry to be officially certified. Trina Solar management received the IEC 61215:2016 and IEC 61730:2016 certificates during a brief ceremony from TÜV Rheinland representatives at the Company’s booth (A2.480) during Intersolar Europe 2019 in Munich (Germany).
Intersolar Europe is the launch platform of the new product line for European markets. Its first representative is the TSM-NEG6MC.28(II) Duomax Twin module, specifically designed for residential application in Europe. Cutting-edge N-type half-cut cells, combined with multi busbar technology, make Duomax Twin the most efficient product with the highest power density in Trina Solar’s residential product portfolio, reaching maximum STC output at 355W in 2019. With its robust double-glass structure, it has a class A fire rating according to IEC 61730, achieving highest fire protection. At the same time, the module’s dark color N-type monocrystalline cells, nearly invisible multi busbars and black frame offer premium aesthetics for rooftop application.
The new IEC certifications have become necessary due to the combination of several innovative technologies into one product. Ulrike Therhaag, VP and Global Business Field Manager of Solar at TÜV Rheinland, commented at the ceremony: “TÜV Rheinland has been providing support to Trina Solar for many years, and it’s a continuous partnership thanks to Trina Solar’s intense R&D activities at their proprietary State Key Lab for PV Science and Technology. We congratulate Trina Solar on this new technology implementation.”
Gonzalo de la Viña, Head of Module Business Europe at Trina Solar, says, “Once again Trina Solar is leading the way by bringing innovative technologies to the mass market, boosting performance by up to 10% in one single go. Our new N-type premium products cater to the market needs, including home owners who look for aesthetic, safe, reliable and powerful solar PV systems for their homes.”
